Ode to Yet Another Barmaid
From the shadows created by dimmed light
And an ethereal Marlboro haze,
Your subtle Cheshire smile emerges first,
Dawning before you materialize.
As you traverse the pallid glow, I glimpse
A muse of unlived past, a raveled thread
Of déjà vu inspiration. The crease
Of your lips widens with a playful nod;
You're another woman I've always known,
Acknowledging that we're both bound by fate
To share a life of moments, stolen one
By one as chance alone will have us meet.
And then you meld again into the dark,
With renmants of a smile left in your wake.
